  • • Conducting comprehensive literature reviews and contributing to the preparation of scientific articles for publication in reputable journals

  • • Performing routine data entry tasks on SARS-CoV-2, Influenza, and RSV infection for hospitalization cases across Tennessee 
  • • Extracting data from 3 electronic health record systems and 2 surveillance system databases in Tennessee to synthesize clinical information into REDCap surveillance forms

Foodborne and Enteric Disease Intern May 2023 – September 2023

  • • Updated and streamlined Norovirus outbreak prevention and control guidelines for K-12 schools, summer camps, and childcare centers into three 20-page documents 
  • • Developed site-specific infographics, checklists, sample letters, and sample line lists for Norovirus outbreak prevention and control 
  • • Participated in weekly meetings on foodborne and enteric disease investigation cases, clusters, and outbreak response 
  • • Analyzed laboratory practices for foodborne pathogens utilizing Microsoft excel in the development of tables and visualizations and disseminated a 24-page result summary document to 132 participating laboratories 
  • • Evaluated student interview teams responsible for enteric disease outbreak response utilizing the statistical software program SAS based on performance and efficiency 
  • Developed frequency tables and logistic regression models utilizing SAS as part of a poster that was presented at the Annual Vanderbilt Institute for Medicine and Public Health, Population and Public Health Colloquium and at the Vanderbilt Translational Research Forum on my behalf
