Alyssa Tate, M.D. is a Philadelphia-area native who is passionate about community and addiction psychiatry. Caring for patients in non-traditional settings including homeless shelters, mobile clinics, carceral settings, and home visits has shaped her interest in the intersection between community psychiatry and addiction medicine. Dr. Tate has published research on social isolation during homelessness as well as the operational and ethical challenges of student-run medical clinics. She completed medical school at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, general psychiatry PGY-1 at University of Nevada, Reno, and general psychiatry PGY2-4 at Community Memorial Health in Ventura, California. She was an American Psychiatric Association Public Psychiatry Fellow from 2022-2024. She is currently an Addiction Psychiatry fellow at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for the 2025-2026 academic year.
