2025 Mid-South Addiction Medicine Conference Post-Event Recap

The 2025 Mid-South Addiction Medicine Conference, held October 23–24, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, brought together professionals and thought leaders dedicated to advancing the science and practice of addiction medicine. The event was hosted by Vanderbilt University Medical Center, with the Tennessee Society of Addiction Medicine serving as a valued partner in shaping the educational program and promoting professional collaboration across the region.
Over the course of two days, physicians, social workers, therapists, case managers, and public-health professionals gathered for a series of in-depth sessions exploring the latest research, policy updates, and evidence-based practices in addiction treatment. The conference offered up to 12 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™, underscoring Vanderbilt’s commitment to continuing medical education and the development of clinicians who serve individuals affected by substance-use disorders.
Conference Highlights
Interdisciplinary Collaboration – Attendees benefited from the diverse expertise represented across medicine, psychology, and social work. Sessions addressed integrated care models, medication-assisted treatment, behavioral health innovation, and systems-based strategies for improving outcomes.
Cutting-Edge Education – Faculty presenters from Vanderbilt and across the Mid-South delivered updates on emerging treatment modalities, stigma reduction, and the intersection of addiction and mental health. Roundtable discussions and Q&A sessions encouraged open dialogue and peer learning.
